To celebrate the start of the Fall season, I decided to post a late fall image taken on a cloudy November day a few years ago. This scene is from an incredibly colorful year in the mid west. Hopefully, with the recent moisture here on the east coast, we can expect lots of color.
Yes, this image is a little out of season but I never get tired of fall photography. This late afternoon shot was taken in a very colorful year a while back. And honest, these colors are true. Or as true as your monitor can present them.
I used a polarizing filter to bring out the total color pallet without the light reflections that usually subdue the intensity. This image was made on Fuji Provia slide film which was about the most neutral medium available then. If you look close enough, you can see that it was a breezy day. The slight “smudgy” look in some areas only added to the beauty of the colors.
About the only processing on this image was a scan and slight Curve modifications in Adobe Photoshop.
Equipment. Nikon N90s with 28-70mm f/2.8 lens. Bogen tripod and head.
