I know, you think I’ve messed up the title for this High Dynamic Range(HDR) image. But yes, this image was produced in full, glorious, living color from five original exposures. And yes, that artwork is interesting.
This is the La Bella Pizzeria in Washington, North Carolina. I haven’t tried their pizza yet but hope to in the near future. Next visit, I’ll use a wide angle lens to get the full, vibrant color signage just to the left of this area.
Processing: Five shots from -2 to +2 ev spaced 1 ev apart were loaded into Nik HDR Efex Pro for just a little structuring and control point manipulation to increase the depth of the shadow areas. I then did simple changes in Adobe Photoshop CS6 to increase the contrast using Curves and finally created an additional layer and applied sharpening with High Pass filter.
Equipment used: Nikon D700 with 50mm f/1.8 lens at f/1.8, ISO 800.

Color or not, this is a compelling image Mark. That mural is quite cool. Maybe you can get a free pizza if you show them you image.
I like the way the candle holder on the right acts as a perfect balance to the mural. Great find, Mark!
You know it took me awhile to figure out that was a mural. Really well done Mark.
