HDR – Simple at The Beach

From a minimal perspective, this High Dynamic Range image shows the complexity of simplicity. With just about every subject, the closer you get, the more you see.

Processing: five images loaded into Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 for tone mapping. The new feature in the Nik software allows a choice of images to use for freezing action. This shot was taken on a pretty windy day and this feature worked perfectly. I finished up the color version in Adobe Photoshop CS6 and then moved it into Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 for the image below. The warm monochrome seemed to fit for this one. I very rarely crop my images but this is about 25% of the original. I lost a bit of sharpness but got the composition that I wanted.

Equipment used: Nikon D700 with 28-70mm f/2.8 lens at 70mm, f/22, ISO 800.
