I spotted this lone, red-winged blackbird in a field of barren trees a few winters ago.  While looking for interesting patterns in the leafless branches, the bright patch of red and yellow caught my attention.

Processing: This is a single image from a scanned slide that I processed with Adobe Photoshop CS6 using HDR Toning.  By eliminating most of the fine detail and softening the colors with Hue/Saturation, I was able to get this surreal result.
