Casting Nets at Fort Macon Beach

Action shots like this are usually impossible for High Dynamic Range imaging. So, next best is a single shot of this fisherman casting his net.  After watching him for a while on a hot, hazy day at the beach, I still don’t think I could get the hang of it.  At any rate, he was pretty successful at snagging, or should I say netting, a bountiful catch. There were a few more guys down the beach doing net fishing but this one seemed to be more experienced.  Look at that form!

I used a Nikon D700 with Nikkor 70-210 mm f/4.0-5.6 lens set at 110mm, f/27, 1/2000 sec, ISO 800.  I loaded the single image into Nik HDR Efex Pro for tone mapping and then into Adobe Photoshop CS6 for a little cropping.
