Incredible building with incredible art . . . perfect for High Dynamic Range Imaging. This interior shot of the Craven Arts Council & Gallery in New Bern, North Carolina gave me a wonderful opportunity to explore the fine art of blending light and tone for a realistic HDR image.
Since this image was shot at a 20mm focal length, I needed to do quite a bit of correction in Adobe Photoshop CS6 with the Adaptive Wide Angle tool. But first, I worked the nine exposures in Nik HDR Efex Pro to get the tones and texture just right. I added a very mild, dark vignette to draw attention away from the corners of the image.
If you ever travel to New Bern North Carolina, make sure to visit this gallery on Middle Street. You won’t be disappointed.
Equipment used: Nikon D700 with 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 lens at 20mm, f/6.7, ISO 3200.

Very well composed and processed Mark. The balance of lighting is perfect. I just got PS6 and that Adaptive Wide Angle is one heck of a tool.
Thanks, Len. I think you’ll have fun with the new PS6 and Adaptive Wide Angle.
Nicely done Mark – looks like a lovely place!
Thanks, Jim.
Really likie the light and shadows here Mark.
Thanks very much, Steven.
Very nice Mark! Love the lines created by the lights!
Thanks, Rich. Much appreciated.
Wonderful light, not always something you can get inside. I really like the way you have processed this to balance all of the elements.
Thanks, Mark. This one did take lots of post processing. I appreciated that you noticed.
Beautiful Mark.
Appreciate your comment, Edith. Thanks!
