This HDR image was taken at Fort Macon which is located in eastern North Carolina close to Morehead City. To recap some information from a few weeks ago, the fort has a rich history which goes back to 1834. The grounds are beautiful with access to the beach in a few areas. The park also contains a more modern visitor facility with displays and information about the history of the fort.
This is a shot of the interior passages with the beautiful brickwork and arched doorways and part of my “Poppin a few with the Nifty Fifty” series.
For just a little variety, I’ve included a monochrome version of this image below. I converted it to Black & White with the green filter and reduced contrast for a smoother tonal balance. All done in Adobe Photoshop, of course.
Equipment used: Nikon D700 with AF 50mm f/1.8 D lens set to f/6.7, ISO 800. Manfrotto 190XPROB with 486RC2 ball head.
